The year 2008 didn't go well for Sania Mirza but at least one of her dreams was fulfilled this year.

She became a doctor. Though it's an honorary degree of doctorate which was she was conferred upon by the MGR University, it was a wish that was always close to Sania's heart.

"When I was growing up I had two dreams--two become a doctor and two play tennis, I chose the latter but now my first wish has also come true thanks to the University", she said.

The Hyderabadi girl who is getting her touch back and is making a return to the world of competitive tennis, accepted that the prefix 'Dr' makes her feel special and gave her thanks to the University.

She also promised that she would ponder over the University's suggestion to open a Tennis Academy in Chennai in future. Sania has done down the WTA rankings from the career high of 27 to 107 but plans to be back in the top 30s again.
