Sania Mirza's sporting feats

Sania is the first Indian tennis player:

  • To break into the top 100 ranking, subsequently in top 50 and also top 30 women players in the world
  • She has won the silver medal for India in Asian Games at Doha (2006) and won gold along with Leander Paes in Mixed doubles category.
  • To beat a top ten player (2005). She has now beaten Svetlana Kuznetsova, Nadia Petrova and Martina Hingis.
  • To enter the fourth round of a Grand Slam tournament (US Open 2005)
  • To win singles title at a WTA championship (At Hyderabad in 2005)
  • To win a WTA doubles title (2004)
  • She has won 23 titles including 12 singles
  • Back in 2003 she win the juniors' Wimbledon doubles title.
  • To win the girl's doubles Wimbledon (Jr) title (2003)
  • To win medal at Asian games (Pairing with Leander Paes she won Mixed Doubles' bronze in 2002)
